At some point in the story you will get a new dialogue option with Randvi (woman at the Alliance Map in your settlement) to take her on a joyride.Leaving the Cargo behind makes Sigurd like you a little more (he’s more likely to stay in England at the end of the story). Taking the Cargo gives you some good starting amount for your first building in your settlement but it counts as a Sigurd Strike (makes him more likely to leave at end of the game). Prologue – At the end of the Norway chapter, you can choose whether to take the Cargo with you to England (dishonorable) or leave it behind (honorable). These choices impact whether Sigurd leaves or stays in England at the end of the story: Either way you still have access to everything after the story and can return to all regions. What outcome you get only affects the final cutscene, nothing else. If you do the opposite and pick the choices in support of Sigurd, he will like you and stay with you in England at the end of the game. If you make 3 Choices against Sigurd (Sigurd Strikes), he will dislike you and leave England to go back to Norway at the end of the game. There are 5 choices in the game that affect what ending you get. If Trygve is alive but you pick Vili for Earldorman he will stay behind and not join your settlement. If you let Trygve burn himself then Vili will automatically be Earldorman and won’t join your settlement. If you pick Trygve as jarl then Vili will join you at your settlement. The dialogue “I see a jarl in you” will pick Vili, and “I see Trygve as jarl, and you with me” will pick Trygve. Assuming you let Trygve live, then later at the end of the Snotinghamscire story arc, during Main Quest “Farewells and Legacies” you can pick between Vili and Trygve for Earldorman. Pick dialogue “Snotinghamscire can’t lose another” so he won’t burn himself or “Do as you must, Trygve” if you want him to burn. Snotinghamscire – Main Quest “Under the Skin”: If you let Trygve burn himself alive at the pyre (he wants to sacrifice his life to the gods), you won’t get to pick an Earldorman.Regardless of your choice, Rollo will always join you as a Jomsviking after completing the Essexe story arc and reporting back to Randvi. Picking Gerhild is preferable so the traitorous snake can’t cause any trouble. If you pick the wrong traitor (Lork), then Estrid will get injured. If you accuse Gerhild (the true traitor), then Estrid won’t get injured later in the Essexe story arc. Essexe – Main Quest “Old Wounds”: At Rollo’s camp you’ll have to figure out who the traitor is – Gerhild or Lork.If you do the Rued duel at the wedding yourself, then Finnr will join your clan/settlement. If you let Oswald do the duel it causes Finnr to not join your clan/settlement. Then at the wedding you can let Oswald duel Rued or you can step in and duel Rued yourself. If you let Rued live, he will show up later at the wedding. If you let Rued die he can’t cause trouble later at the wedding (at end of East Anglia story arc). East Anglia – Main Quest “A Fury from the Sea”: After the Rued boss battle you can choose “Rued will die” or “Rued will live”.If you choose the wrong traitor (Birna / Lif), then Birna will not join your village and Soma will be disappointed in you. Picking the traitor correctly (choosing Galinn) will make Birna join your clan/settlement at the end of Grantebridgescire story arc. The real traitor is Galinn (he has visions and is a little insane). Grantebridgescire – Main Quest “The Stench of Treachery”: You will have to choose who is the traitor (Birna, Lif, Galinn).
